Keeps Paws - and Claws - off the Furniture!

Cats hate to touch sticky-feeling things. These strips are super-sticky to the touch and don't harm upholstery fabrics, even when left in place for months. My furniture looks great and my cat scratches OTHER things--her TurboScratcher, her sisal mats, etc. Bravo!
Sticky Paws work

As promised, Sticky Paws stopped both of my cats in their scratching paths!! Too bad I didn't know about this before they destroyed my chair!!!
Good for training cats to not scratch

I have an original womb chair that I just reupholstered and it's my oldest cats favorite thing to scratch. All of my cats have claw caps but he's particularly good at picking them off and there will often be a few claws free that he uses. I started using a spray can to train him to not scratch the chair, but he still does it sometimes when no ones around. He's very smart. I applied 8 or so of these all over the chair on the spots he goes for most and left them on for 7-10 days. Most of the time when he tried to scratch he hit one of the sticky pads, gets annoyed and stops. I took the sticky pads off because I cant sit on the chair with them on and they're very visible, he hasnt started scratching again. I think I may need to periodically reapply these for a week or so so that he doesnt catch on to that the chair isnt sticky anymore, but so far they've worked well. The claw caps are great, the spray can helped a lot, and these finished the job.
It does work!

I bought these after seeing my cat's handiwork on my new chair. I watched the cat jump onto the chair seat that I had applied Sticky Paws to. Then I watched the cat jump promptly off the chair! I guess cats really don't like the stickiness. And it sticks well to the fabric.

You do need a lot of these strips to cover any desired area. Also, you need to read the fine print on the product - it may damage certain surfaces (such as, but not limited to, wood, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, wallpaper), so you'd have to do a small test on the surface. And the print says it is ineffective on non-stick or stain-repellant products (such as Scotchgard). Since I applied the product to a non-Scotchgard, fabric chair, it's fine for me so far.
Don't use it on leather!

This product might work well, but once it was time to remove from my couch it took strips of the leather too. I didn't read the fine print. It was my fault. But I wish they would state what surfaces are safe when advertising on Amazon and other sites. It would've saved some heartache.
Couldn't Get it to Stick!

It seems like a great concept because cats do hate sticky stuff. However, these things would not stick to our couch material. After ruining 3 sheets just trying to peel off the 2nd backing, I finally got 3 to stay on. By the next morning 2 had fallen off and were laying flat on the floor next to the couch. I know it wasn't the cats because as soon as you touch these sheets they ball up into a big wad of mess. Maybe it could have worked if the sheets would have stuck to the couch surface?? The other problem is that you need several packages just to cover the back and sides of the couch. I got Soft Paws instead - they are awesome!
Cat not fooled

I adopted an adult cat. She seemed to already know what this was and was tearing it off with her mouth faster than I could apply it. She was having none of it!
If you want to give this a try, apply it while your cat is out of the room and keep in mind, there's an awful lot of surface area to a couch. You'll need a ton of it.
Don't waste your money

The cats had it off in no time - great entertainment for them. I wouldn't waste my money.
