Very Happy with Bazoongi 48" Bouncer Trampoline

Review Date: December 29, 2008
Reviewer: New Jersey Mom,
I have two high-energy kids - a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl - so I'd been searching for an indoor trampoline that would allow them to have fun while safely expending some of that amazing kid-energy during the winter. :-)

We researched a lot of trampolines and ended up getting them the Bazoongi 48" Bouncer trampoline for Christmas. It's been a huge hit.

Here are the pros and cons we've experienced so far.

PROS

- As shown in the item image, the blue outer ring completely covers the springs. (This is a big deal when you have little kids as you don't want them to get a foot caught between two of those.) My understanding from reading reviews of other trampolines is that many are not built in a way that fully covers these pieces.

- The Bazoongi Bouncer has six legs which I suspect makes it more sturdy than models that have only four.

- For us, 48" is the perfect size for an indoor trampoline. It's big enough to allow the kids adequate jumping space and yet small enough to fit in our not-so-large living room.

- The bar that is attached to the trampoline for support is fully padded - there are no sharp or metal parts exposed. It's also seems to be a great height for both our kids to hold onto.

- The trampoline allows for good jumping. (It has a nice "bounce", which is obviously very important from a fun-factor perspective.)

CONS

- The weight limit is 80 pounds, so my husband and I can't jump on it (which is a shame as it looks like a lot of fun.) :-)

- Even with the extra two legs, my son (who is around 50 lbs) sometimes seem to wobble it a little when he leans on the support bar too heavily. This is probably our biggest issue with the trampoline, as it makes me a little uneasy. However, to be fair, it's only wobbled when he's leaned very heavily, and he probably shouldn't do that. I suspect if you use it outside you could tether it to stakes in the ground or something and not have this issue.

- Assembly was not as bad as we expected reading some other trampoline assembly reviews. My husband is quite handy and was able to have it up and ready in about a half-hour. He did get his hands pretty dirty though as it comes greased, so you might want to avoid attempting assembly on your light-colored carpeting. :-)

- The cost is more than some of the other models we reviewed, however it really does seem to be a good, sturdy bouncer and I suspect we'll get a lot of use out of it, so I feel it's worth the extra cost.

As with all trampolines, you should never leave your kids alone when using them, and only one child should be on the trampoline at a time. (We had Santa leave a note for the kids with safety rules.) :-)

Hope this is helpful!

Awesome for a kid with Autism/Sensory Issues

My son is 3 and has Autism along with some sensory issues. This is a fantastic way for him to get sensory input! It has 6 legs, which makes it very stable (as opposed to the square, 4-legged models) and the springs give it great bouncing potential (as opposed to the models that use bungee cords). The weight limit is 100 pounds so I know he will get a lot of use out of it! The handle is great, although my son doesn't use it since his arms are short and when he holds the handle he can't bounce in the middle. Each child is different, so use your judgment on this...the handle can be removed if you feel this works for your child. Either way, adult supervision is a must. Overall, we are extremely happy with this purchase.
A great trampoline for toddlers

I usually wait longer to write a review, but this trampoline was such a hit with my son that I had to share the experience faster than usual... My mom got this trampoline as a gift for my 22 month old son. She thought that it would be a good way for him to burn some energy during the winter. Well, it works very well. He bounces, jumps, sits, uses it to jump to the couch, he even wants to nap on it. It is a very fun 'toy.' So, in case you are wondering if your kids will use it, trust me they will.
Before my mom bought this trampoline I had several concerns, especially regarding safety. I thought that the handle bar was only on the side and that my son's arms would not reach it, or that if he reached the handle his feet would not be on the mat, but on the blue cover of the metal springs. My son is close to 3 feet -about 34 inches- and he reaches the handle bar perfectly and his feet stay safely in the mat and away from the spring cover. He still has about two inches from his feet to the spring cover. So the trampoline can easily be used by toddlers. My last safety concern was about the sturdiness of the trampoline and if my son could tip it over if he jumped hard enough while holding on to the bar. To test this I have bounced on it myself. I am 130 pounds and I have jumped on it really hard while holding on to the safety bar. If I jump really hard it buckles, but it does not tip over completely. My son has jumped hard on it while holding on and so far the trampoline has not moved at all. He is 30 pounds so I figure he will not make it tip over for a while, and when he is older the handle will not be necessary. So I think it is pretty safe and sturdy for a toddler. Still, as my son has gotten comfortable with the trampoline he has been a little more daring and he has fallen, so you do need to be there to supervise the kids and catch them if necessary.
Putting it together was a little tricky, but I did it myself in just 90 minutes. The instructions are not that clear, but with a little of patience and logic it is easy to set it up. The only thing extra I used was some oil to get the pieces to slide into one another with less effort, and it worked.
Overall I think this is a great trampoline and I have to say that my mom was right.
awesome trampoline for kids

this is a great trampoline, it does have springs, but like a million of them and they are safely covered which makes it really strong. I have purchased a trampoline from another company recently made with the bungee cord and it broke in a month! This product is well worth the money, my small child loves it, and it comes with a safety bar!
great sturdy, bouncy trampoline!!

I can't get my 3 year old off this trampoline! It is very sturdy and also gives a great bounce. I was a little worried before we got it b/c most smaller trampolines are pretty hard and don't bounce much, but this one is awesome. And the 6 legs provide total stability, it doesn't even shake or move when he jumps on it. One suggestion, put it together when you are not tired! I tried to do it one night then got pissed b/c I couldn't get the frame together, but the next night 2 of us did it in 2 seconds (stand the frame on it's side and one person holds the pieces togther while the other person snaps the last piece in. The spring puller tool is awesome, what a big help. Also, we removed the handle b/c our son liked it better that way, great in or out though.. Anyway, we think this is a great product.. happy shopping! Oh, one last very minor thing -- on the blue pad there are green jumping frogs, you can't see them in the pics online..
Sturdy, Easy to put together, great purchase

My son has Autism Spectrum disorder, and we had been looking at various trampolines, and we found this was a great fit for us. It is a bit larger than most, but what we've found over the past few days is that it is an advantage.

If the trampoline was smaller, when he falls on his butt, he'd actually fall off the trampoline head over heels -the extra 10-15 inches makes a big difference, as he just falls down on the padding & gets back up.

It was easy to put together, about 10-15 minutes, the only tool I needed was my rubber mallet, which made putting the frame together a bit easier. I can see why some people might have troubles, as some pieces fit very snug, but the mallet helped to coax the last 1/2 inch in a few places :-)

Very sturdy, I love the 6 legs, and my son has already spent hours bouncing on it - great deal!

Update (21 Jan 09):
We were at a friend's house & they had a smaller bouncer, brand name 'galt' or nursery bouncer, and what a difference it was. Our son went over to it, and he almost folded the legs and flipped over the bar. I didn't realize how lucky we were with this larger bouncer, but the smaller ones are actually a bit dangerous. This bouncer is so much more sturdy - my wife & him bounce on it together (~150 lbs combined - and yes I know it is supposed to be only for 100 lbs or less - but my point is how durable it is) and no problem. On the smaller one, it just stretches til your feet hit the floor. Definitely validated my decision to go with this one, even though it was more expensive.
excellent

My two year old loves this. She has stopped jumping on furniture, now just uses this. She also uses it as a table to sit and play on. It is very stable and doesn't take up too much space.
so far so good

after looking for just the right trampoline for our 2 year old we picked this one. we've had it less then a month but so far we are very happy. a little difficult to put together-the instructions say it takes 2-3 people and it took 3 of us to get the last piece of frame in. but this is very sturdy and our daughter LOVES it. beware-it is a pretty big footprint for a mini trampoline.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this bouncer for my then 1 year and a half year old son as a Christmas present. He is now 2 years old and still LOVES it. He jumps on it on a daily basis. It keeps him occupied and gives me a little break. Unfortunately he ripped off the foam around the handle within a week. I wish the company had made something a bit more durable to put on the handles; nevertheless, it's a great product and I would definitely recommend it. It's very sturdy. Oh, the price is reasonable and we didn't have any problems putting it together.

my aunt has this for her kids, a 2 person jumper. my daughter loved that one, but it's not around anymore, probably due to safety. we got this for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and the big smiles and frequent jumping are the result. only wish the bar were slanted in a bit more so she could jump in the middle with it. the bar is right at the edge, so she has to stretch her arms out a bit. Nonetheless, she loves it!!! has a blast with it, it works for her though. a plus, it's a good indoor exercise for her, her appetite and thirst is better after using this, and she is one picky little eater/drinker. BTW, its bigger than we thought it would be.
